Torquay Hotels
Torquay is a coastal town in the county of Devon, England. Its charms as a seaside resort were initially discovered by members of the Royal Navy during the Napoleonic Wars and in the later 19th century its temperate climate made it a fashionable destination for the elite of Victorian society. In spite of mass jet travel, its nine sandy beaches, palm tree-lined promenade and excellent water quality mean that it still attracts a large number of tourists every year.
Ever popular Torquay attractions include Kents Cavern (Britain's most important Stone Age site), Living Coasts (a large coastal zoo), Babbacombe Model Village (considered one of the best examples of a model village in England), the The Princess Theatre and Babbacombe Cliff Railway.
